The Foster Fuels Summer College Intern will be a highly motivated individual that is responsible for assisting department heads on special projects and other assigned tasks. The internship will be a temporary position not to exceed an expected 10-12 week term. Responsibilities will include formulating a special report at the end of the term to showcase research results and company recommendations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Completing assigned department projects inefficiencies researching and investigating issues and concerns.
  • Collecting and inputting data into systems
  • May be providing support to a defined department such as Accounting, Marketing, IT, or Sales and completing an assigned task
  • Report safety issues or concerns to management in a timely manner
  • In-person work environment but must be able to report to Brookneal or other associated Central Virginia properties

Required Skills:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Accounting, or closely related degree
  • Research and investigative skills
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Reliability and timeliness
  • Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work effectively as a team
  • Minimum 2.7 Cumulative GPA or higher (Current transcript is required)

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience in case studies or research reporting

  • Physical Requirements:
    • Must be able to lift and carry 25 pounds

  • 30-40 hours required
